Goshin Kenpo Jutsu Goshin Kenpo Jutsu Goshin Kenpo Jutsu means “Self-Defence Fighting Methods ”. We train in a mixed traditional martial arts system of Japanese Jujutsu for grappling, Okinawa Kenpo-Karate for striking and Chinese Tai Chi Chuan for power generation and body structure.
Goshin Kenpo Jutsu can be tailored to whatever your requirements are, whether it’s effective self-defence, to improve your health, to build your confidence or just as an alternative fitness program we have something to offer you.
We train in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where we all help each other to get the most out of the training. The class is open to everyone over 16 years old, we are especially suitable for the more mature student who may find the combat sports styles to be intimidating, a little too heavy handed or physically too demanding. We have a progressive syllabus from beginner to black belt that develops self-defence skills for all combat ranges using striking combined with grappling to survive in common assault situations including at higher levels armed and multiple opponents.
All classes are taught by Chief instructor Alan Wolfenden 7th Dan , fully insured and DBS checked, Alan is an affiliated member of the Cobra Martial Arts Association and listed in the National Black Belt Register.
Beginners are always welcome
What to wear? We do wear a practice uniform known as a Karate Gi, this is tougher than regular clothing to withstand the stresses of realistic self-defence training. This uniform also has a belt which denotes your training level and will be required as your training progresses and can be obtained through the class when needed.
Any Questions? Chief Instructor Alan Wolfenden is always happy to answer any questions you might have about the system taught or your personal training goals.
